Does anyone use the forums? | |
|
There are a few of us here that utilize this powerful tool. What is it going to take to grow the SPARKDADDY forum community?

I think the forums should be revamped for ease of use. Something like this.
NOOB FORUM (this forum will host subtopics) Rules How To FAQ MUSIC FORUM (this forum will host subtopics) DJ Band Just Playing MODEL FORUM (this forum will host subtopics) Wordrobe Pose Do's and Donts PHOTOGRAPHER FORUM (this forum will host subtopics) Etique Equipment Lighting GENERAL FORUM Off Topic (post modified: 01/13/12 09:11:06) |

I've been thinking about this quite a bit myself. A quiet forum never grows and there are posts here that never see any action. Makes me wonder how many people actually recognize the forum is here. I agree that organizing the forum might help stimulate conversation. I am a lot more interesting in poking about an organized form than I am looking for a topic lost in a generic soup.
Just brainstorming: - Make the Community Forum tab so that it is the first tab up when you click "Community" - Maybe add a forum tab to the Home page to increase visibility - Regular posts, at least once a week aimed at starting conversation - maybe New Pic and/or New Artist of the week/month? - Once you get a good topic started, promote that thread via social media to pull more people in - Entails work on someone's part, but maybe do some artist interviews to post in the forums and get them to tell their innermost secrets and break down crying about their sordid past. Force them to explain that incident back in '97 and what really happened that led to the lose of their pinky toe. That was tongue in cheek, but it would be fun to see how artists respond to questions about fictional events (or so we say...) that the interviewer makes up. - Anything to make the forums a fun place to visit and talk is going to attract attention. Come up with ideas that will help the various artists mingle. Encourage models, photographers, musicians, DJs, etc to start up an 'official thread' where they tell us what they are up to next, where we can see them play, what social media they use, etc. Lines of communication! I shouldn't be brainstorming this early on a Friday morning... |

The Wheaties must have kicked in. LOL
Now that I think about it, why isn't there a link to the forums across the top of the page? Make it immediately accessible instead of two clicks. Might also consider adding a forum link on the Artist Menu, too. Content and visibility. I should probably help more on the former. LOL |
